Quote from a narrative on the subject
I’m a big fan of graffiti and street art, I’ve got enough books and prints to last a lifetime. So whenever any street art advertising campaigns come along I get very interested very quickly.
This recent series from M&C Saatchi for the New Zealand Police force initially seems like a standard piece of street art until you look a little closer. The message supporting the image asks you to do something extraordinary and become a cop, while each image itself is a reference to a previous incident that the police force has dealt with. That is the bit I find bloody cool by the way!
There’s also something about using an illegal activity (depending on your point of view) to promote the police that makes me chuckle.
